3 Favorite Meals at the Gypsy Café

Gypsy Cafe is one of the best restaurants on Marco Island for its variety of unique features

Gypsy Café has it all. You can lazily watch the bay water waves roll on by as you wait for top-quality seafood. You can admire the classic Florida décor all while listening for the hum of incoming boats and yachts.

It is one of the best restaurants on Marco Island for its variety of unique features. Gypsy Café sits right on the water, so there’s always a view to appreciate. But the restaurant goes above and beyond just a nice shanty on the water. You get live entertainment many nights a week. Gypsy has a full liquor license, so you can order an inventive and audacious drink without concern.

Visitors can even sit poolside if they want. The outside lounge rests right up against Gypsy’s pool, and guests have been known to dip in the water while waiting for their food.

Overall, Gypsy Café is one of the most appealing Marco Island fine dining restaurants, but it also encompasses a nice casual ambiance. A pool by the restaurant does that. No one will feel out of place enjoying top-tier food by the water.

Three Favorite Meals

We scoured the menu for a long time to unearth this list of our three favorite meals at the Gypsy Café. If you asked us tomorrow, we may switch one out. That is how good the menu is. But regardless, you can’t go wrong diving into any of these three options. They are all only available after 4 p.m. (for dinner), but we couldn’t help highlighting how absolutely dazzling their evening selections are. Every dish highlights some of the best Marco Island seafood imaginable.

Shrimp and Scallop Pasta

The Shrimp and Scallop Pasta is a surefire hit. It takes three main ingredients which sell themselves- Sautéed jumbo Gulf shrimp, scallops tossed in a garlic parmesan cream sauce, and thick linguini pasta. The dish is then covered with mushrooms, tomato, and spinach and served with garlic toast points.

The Shrimp and Scallop Pasta is $22.95.

Alternatively, you can order the Fried Seafood Basket. It features a collection of the shrimp and scallops, as well as three pieces of fried fish.

Trinidad Tuna

The Trinidad Tuna is the only dish we knew would settle firmly in the top three. The tuna is encrusted with cilantro lemongrass and served with Island rice & asparagus. It is topped with a delightfully-addictive sweet chili ponzu sauce. It is this sauce that puts it over the edge. Whatever you order, the tuna or otherwise, ask for a side of the ponzu.

The Trinidad Tuna is $29.

Lobster and Shrimp Mac N’ Cheese

You may have seen Lobster and Mac on a menu somewhere, but what about the addition of shrimp to the equation?

This menu option manages to take an upcoming seafood staple and turn it on its head. The dish features thick lobster and baby Gulf shrimp tossed in a pepper jack cheese sauce. It is topped splendidly with mushrooms, green onions with Cavatappi pasta. It is a very popular option for kids, for obvious reasons. They just can’t escape that love for macaroni and cheese.

This dazzling dish can be yours for $22.

These are our three favorite dishes, but there’s a lot more we love! The crispy Thai Chicken, the
Island Grouper, the Filet Mignon, and the eight different lunchtime sandwiches are all noteworthy menu additions.
