The SpeakEasy
Location: 1106 N Collier Blvd, Marco Island
The SpeakEasy is pretty simple. Want a good-priced drink, a casual atmosphere, a tasty sandwich, and some time by the television at the bar? Want to have all this while overlooking the water?
The SpeakEasy has an indoor atmosphere not unlike a high-end sports bar, as well as an outdoor deck patio with some gorgeous views of the interior Marco island waterways.
This quaint plaza stop was a major Prohibition-era pub, and that reckless abandon runs into its current history. The restaurant and bar brings out that loose and fun Chicago attitude.
Happy Hour runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Come out Thursdays for karaoke and Sundays for a rotating door of music entertainment.
This spot is a casual and fun alternative to the big seafood patio decks or luxury dining excursions. Stop on by any time from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Mango’s Dockside Grill
Location: 760 N Collier Blvd # 109, Marco Island
Mango’s Dockside Grill has all the iconic features of a casual mini-restaurant paradise. You can grab some tropical drinks from the full bar, order some burgers and seafood, and soak in the exuberance of the island life. Mango’s was featured on HGTV to showcase the fun island energy for viewers.
The outdoor deck welcomes dogs and offers some brilliant views of the Smokehouse Bay. Mango’s is open from breakfast to dinner, but it may be the in-between period that holds the boldest treasures.
A real highlight of Mango’s is the griddle delight menu. It is available 9 to noon and makes for a worthwhile brunch. Indulge in the Sam’s Favorite, a Cuban-breaded French toast coated in cinnamon and vanilla custard. Also give the Belgium Waffle a look or the Dockside Strawberry Buttermilk Pancakes.
Mango’s showcases live music most evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Happy hour is available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
Snook Inn
Location: 1215 Bald Eagle Dr, Marco Island
Want the best of what authentic Florida has to offer? Get a taste of the sassy and funky fun of Snook Inn. There’s a little attitude in every menu item, from the stuffed grouper to the Thai shrimp tacos. You can go to the old-fashioned pickle bar for some meal accompaniments or hop on over to the salad bar.
Snook Inn is a landmark sight with 30 years of history on the island. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
CJ’s on the Bay
Location: 740 N Collier Blvd #105, Marco Island
Take a walk about a block south of Mango’s Dockside Restaurant to find an equally impressive eatery at CJ’s on the Bay. An open patio delivers nothing less than the turquoise glow of the Marco Island water.
CJ’s provides American classic burgers, fine local seafood, and fruit-flavored cocktails. The location embodies the spirit of going big or going home while in Florida. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
CJ’s also provides daily specials, such as $5 Sangrias on Saturdays. It is mostly a casual and quintessential beachside Florida hangout, with outdoor patio entertainment every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and inside entertainment most weekend nights starting at 8 p.m. Experience the entertainment with the cascading waters in sight.
You will find CJ’s in the Esplanade Shoppes, part of the boutique and dining plaza that runs by the bay. The doors of CJ’s on the Bay open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
