Great house, close to beach.

So, let me start by saying that this house was great. Location, quite cul-de-sac, canal access with fishing, and of course, the pool was awesome. I want to give some positives and some negatives from my perspective, but overall I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a Marco Island getaway. Pros – The house is big, clean, and well equipped. The décor is very nice and there was plenty of room for everyone, and we split this house between two families. The heated pool was very popular and provided daily entertainment. The kitchen is well equipped and you could prepare any meal you could think of in it. Back canal is awesome for fishing. We caught a lot of catfish, snapper, and other fish. The trip overall was a lot of fun. House came with plenty of pool and beach toys, including bikes which my kids used to tour the island. Cons – The layout of the house is challenging sometimes. There is a very large living/dining area that is secluded from the remainder of the house, and without a TV in there, it was rarely used. It opens to the pool area and I’m sure during periods of cooler outdoor temps, it would be opened up to the pool and used. Speaking of TVs, there are only 3 in the house, and 1 didn’t even work. There is one in the living area off the kitchen, the master BD, and the guest BD with trundle beds. They are all pretty small. I know you are at the beach, but surprised this size house didn’t have a better selection of TVs. The bedroom/bathroom layout was different as well. One bath that is a master suite, one near two bedrooms, then one in the back part of the house. We assumed this was set up as a pool bath, but you have to go outside and around the house, or run through the living/kitchen area to access. All sliding glass doors are in need of maintenance and very hard to slide/use, especially for the little ones who almost smashed fingers multiple times trying to close them. Pool heater was not working upon arrival. Only through self-education (thank you Google) and understanding how it worked were we able to appreciate the heated function of the pool. I would suggest some documentation on how to operate the pool heater because I don’t know if it would have worked. We did reach out to Clausen and they did respond, but didn’t follow up and we continued to have to reset the heater pretty much each day. These are the reasons for the 4 start evaluation, otherwise it would have been 5 star. Again, great house and not trying to sound negative, just wanting to give a fair evaluation.
